Protect your USB Disk

Previously I lost my 128MB Kingston usb disk (yeah…it’s more or less than 5 year I use it). All my important and sensitive data inside gone…

Of course, whoever take/found it would easily open and see all the data.

Then I bought 1GB Pendrive mini pendrive for RM35. Oklar,It’s consider cheap compared to last few years.

Do you know that we can actually make this device password protected and make it more secured ?

yes..it can be done but it take me quite some time to figure it out. I notice that it always create 2 drives whenever i plugin into my pc or notebook. This is from user manual :

USB Disk Pro has some new features. Unlike USB Disk, the USB Disk Pro was divided into two partitions, for which one of the partitions is 1.44MB,

same size as a floppy disk; and the other partition takes the balance.

Actually it’s just a simple step , we just need a litte more time to explore our new stuff that we bought and maximize it’s capabilities.

Inside 1.44MB partition, you will see these 2 files. If your pc already have drive A,then this partition will mounted to drive B and so on.

Just Click the exe file and you will see below window.

Just set the password and follow other instruction, your usb disk now is more secured. It’s password protected.

So,next time you plug in your usb disk into your pc, your drive is not accessible. You need to go to the previous exe file and open it. Click the Unlock button and you will prompt to enter the password.

Just be carefull, we only have SIX chances to enter password correctly. If we enter wrong password six times, it will automatically FORMAT the partition and all data insided will be lost .

    10. Howdo you open the partions

    11. Unlike USB Disk, the USB Disk Pro was divided into two partitions , for which one of the partitions is 1.44MB,same size as a floppy disk ; and the other partition takes the balance .

To open the partition, just go to”My Computer” and click to Floppy. If you already have A drive, than this partition will be mount at B drive and so on. Same thing with the second partition.
